I've created this blog in an effort to share my art work with others and to join an ever growing community of working artists. Most pieces will be for sale with the current price listed. Email me directly with any questions regarding sales.
I started painting in the late 90's. I began with watercolor and moved into oil shortly afterward. I consider myself an emerging artist, continuing to improve as I go along. I am basically self taught. Early on I attended an evening art class that was helpful. Since then I've attended two workshops with Gregg Kreutz who teaches at the Art Students League in NYC. His book, 'Problem Solving for Oil Painters' has been extremely helpful, as well as his videos. I also study the works and books of one of Kreutz's teachers, David Leffel, and his partner Sherrie McGraw, who also teach at the Art Students League.
This blog will grow as I go along and learn how to add more elements. I hope you will like what you see. I appreciate your time and interest.
My best to you and yours,
Kathy Tenney
8x10 Oil on canvas. This is one of my first oils and one of my better ones to date. I especially like the brush work and paint quality. Painted from an old photo and memory. A place of many wonderful gatherings in southern Wisconsin.
